Surprisingly, those awkward moments in therapy, when things seem confused or stuck, can be the golden key to working with clients. We will look at therapist’s shame when it comes to earning or promotion of their practice - or work in the world - - and how it can get in the way - or help work with clients shame. Bring in your challenging cases. You will gain a much better understanding of Shame Countertransference - in which the therapist a reacts emotionally to the client’s shame. You will learn to use this important inner information - and adjust it with precision - to access and transform the client’s Shame. Shame Countertranference can supply the information you need to help the client heal shame, find dignity - and free up creativity in both therapist and client.
You will be able to work with your own shame, in and out of session and help yourself and your clients separate feelings of shame from other emotions. And you'll learn how to help clients out of the shame morass while working with your natural feelings of incompetence when faced with client’s shame - so that deep healing can happen in and out of the session.
