During the first 12 years of life, we form our belief systems, both limiting and empowering. From our experiences, we create our story which then defines how we see ourselves and the world. Shame is what keeps us playing small or staying quiet when we want to scream, ‘STOP.’ Healing shame allows us to re-write our stories into healthier versions where we can experience calm and more freedom. We can never go back and change what happened, but moving forward can be a choice to create a sense of well-being.
I am a certified trauma recovery coach, Level 1 IFS practitioner, specializing in developmental trauma. I am also trained in somatic work through Somatic Experiencing International. Together with focus on the shame work from the Center for Healing Shame, I use these modalities to work with teenagers, adults and first responders. Walking alongside clients as they gently work their way through understanding what happened to them, as opposed to what’s wrong with them, is an honor.

My approach with clients cultivates curiosity and compassion as we explore what matters most to that person(s). We work side by side to more fully explore and discover and to support you in developing new capacities. Our focus is helping you to create a more fulfilling life and relationships (and less suffering!).
I’ve found Bret and Sheila’s approach to healing shame useful in my life and work. Based on over 20 years of working with systems, people (and my own self), I have come to understand that all our problems, conflicts, dilemmas, confusions, tensions, and struggles have two common factors:
- a relational component and
- very often a hidden obstacle of shame.
Unaddressed, those factors can keep us stuck and disconnected from all aspects of life.
The good news: Shame can be healed. Relationships can be repaired. This work enables us to create more fulfilling lives and relationships (and less suffering!).
I work with individuals and couples who want to live, grow, work and relate in healthy, generative ways. Past clients include parents, couples, individuals, organizational leaders, professionals, creatives, entrepreneurs, and teams. Please reach out to me if you’d like to explore how we might work together.
